What we collect, why, and how to reach us. We never sell your information.

Who we are

Future of Humanity Foundation (“the Foundation,” “we,” “us”) is a Texas nonprofit corporation recognized by the IRS as a tax-exempt public charity under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code. This policy explains what information we collect through this website, our email list, our donation forms, and our Fellow nomination form, and how we use and protect it.

Our promise is short: we do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. Ever.

What we collect

We collect only what you choose to give us, plus the minimum technical information any website receives.

How we use it

We do not use your information for any purpose you would not reasonably expect from a charity you chose to contact or support.

Email updates and unsubscribing

We send email updates only to people who sign up or opt in. Updates go out about once a month and cover the Foundation’s work, its Fellows and projects, and ways to take part.

Every update includes an unsubscribe link. One click removes you from the list. You can also write to us at the address below and we will remove you promptly. Unsubscribing from updates does not stop the receipts and records you need for a gift you have made.

Our email list is managed by a third-party newsletter service that stores subscriber addresses on our behalf and may use standard open and click measurement to tell us how updates are performing. It may not use our list for its own marketing.

Donations

Online gifts are processed by a third-party payment processor that is PCI-DSS compliant. When you give, the processor collects your payment details directly and shares with us the information needed to record and acknowledge your gift: your name and contact details (unless you give anonymously, see below), the amount, date, frequency, and designation.

We keep donation records for as long as needed for accounting, audit, and tax purposes, generally seven years, and then delete or anonymize them.

Donor lists are never sold, rented, or exchanged with other organizations.

Anonymous giving

You may give anonymously. If you do, we will not publish your name, list it in any public acknowledgment, or share it with Fellows or project teams. You will be listed, if at all, as “Anonymous.”

Anonymous giving means anonymous to the public. Our payment processor and our internal financial records still hold the details needed to process the payment, issue your receipt, prevent fraud, and meet our legal and tax reporting obligations. Those records are seen only by the people who need them to do that work.

When we share information

We share personal information only with:

We do not share donor information with project teams or Fellows unless you ask us to.

Some pages load services from other companies, such as typefaces from Google Fonts, and our payment and newsletter forms. Those companies may receive your IP address and set their own cookies when you use them, under their own privacy policies.

How we protect it

The site is served over an encrypted (HTTPS) connection. Access to donor and nomination records is limited to the people who need it. No system is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect your information and will tell you if a breach affects you, as Texas law requires.

Children

This site is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has sent us information, contact us and we will delete it.

Your choices

Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, we will post the new version here with a new date. If a change materially affects how we use information you have already given us, we will tell you by email before it takes effect.
